The Skin I'm In
Sharon Flake
The book I’m reading called The Skin I’m In is a really good book. This book is about a middle age girl named Maleeka. She has always been picked on all her life growing up; she has been picked on because of her skin color and her hair and her clothes. Maleeka goes to an alternative school which means the school isn’t so nice a clean. So Maleeka finally gets sick an tired of people picking on her that she decides to make an change; maleeka starts hanging out with some of the popular girls in school. Once she starts hanging out with the popular girls she noticed that nothing has really changed. Then Maleeka decided to change some things about herself; Maleeka cuts her hair off buys new clothes and puts lip gloss on. Once she changes those things about herself she feels so much better about herself. So then Maleeka goes to school with her new look feeling good, and still nothing changes everybody is still picking on her. Then Maleeka just decides that she has to love herself for who she is and how god made her to look.

Rosa Parks: My Story
Rosa Parks
My story
The book called Rosa Parks: My Story is an awesome biography about Rosa parks. She tells us about her whole life from growing up to becoming a lady. Growing up Rosa Parks' grandfather told her that he doesn’t want to ever see her cleaning and cooking for white people, because she is worth more than that. When Rosa parks was growing up education and schooling was so different from education and schooling now. Back in those days when she was growing up kindergarten through sixth grade was all held in one small classroom. After Rosa was 25 she got married to Raymond parks. After they got married they both joined the NAACP.
