Where the Red Fern Grows

Where the Red Fern Grows
by: Wilson Rawls

The story Where The Red Fern Grows was about two dogs named Little Ann and Old Dan and a boy named Billy. Billy loved to coon hunt; he was so good at it he went to the championship coon hunt. He came first in the beauty pageant competition. They also came first in the coon hunt. When Billy got home that’s when everything went bad. After like 2 weeks they been home Billy and the dogs went hunting again. They went into the mountains. The dogs was in a battle with a mountain lion and Billy killed the lion when the lion had made a big cut in Old Dan. When they were walking home the dog’s intestines fell out and when they got home he died. So that made him sad; also it made Little Ann devastated so she died from loneliness.

I liked the book Where The Red Fern Grows. It was mysterious at times because you didn’t know what was going to happen next. It was also sad at times. So it’s a good book for you if you like stories of friendship and if you like animals.

The book is about a boy and a girl who together try to solve mysteries about Skeleton Creek like finding out why it is called that. It might sound like fun and games, but they have to go through some problems even just to make a plan. Imagine how it would be like to sneak out the hou……… I've said too much. Read Skeleton Creek by Patrick Carman and find out the rest of the story for yourself.

Horrowitz Horror

HOROWITZ HORROR
Anthony Horowitz

This book is about 9 stories that are chilling to me. They may seem true but they are not. Don’t read all of them in one nine or you’ll have nightmares…… Unless you want to get it over with all in one night. All of these 9 horrific stories are very cool. I hope you like this book.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Diary of a Wimpy Kid
by Jeff Kinney

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is about a boy and his best friend Rowley. They are both in middle school. It is not just any middle school; it is very weird. Some things that are weird are the stinky cheese. It is a piece of cheese that has been outside for about three months. If you touch it you get the cheese touch. The only way to prevent from getting it is to cross your fingers. They do many other things also like big snow men to comic books to a haunted house. They do every thing. I don’t want to ruin this very funny book but that is a short summary of the book.

I recommend this book to everybody. This book is not for just girls or boys but both. I recommend this book if you like comedies. Have fun reading it, I hope you enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: THE LAST STRAW

In the third book to the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series the main character, Greg Heffley, suffers through another diary bought by his mom. If you liked the other two Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, then you’re going to love this one. If you like animation and comedy and a little drama, you should definitely consider reading this.

After attempts to change his dad’s mind, he realized nothing would stop him. Then Greg goes to Boy Scouts to show his dad that one day of manual labor can turn a wimp like Greg into a strong man. Greg finally got a chance to show his dad that he is one big man by going to a campsite to spend the night. But when they got there, the camp was 5 feet underwater. I enjoyed this book because it was funny and entertaining. You never know what Greg, Rodrick, Manny, Rowley or Fregley will do next.

Rosa Parks: My Story

Rosa Parks

The book called Rosa Parks: My Story is an awesome biography about Rosa parks. She tells us about her whole life from growing up to becoming a lady. Growing up Rosa Parks' grandfather told her that he doesn’t want to ever see her cleaning and cooking for white people, because she is worth more than that. When Rosa parks was growing up education and schooling was so different from education and schooling now. Back in those days when she was growing up kindergarten through sixth grade was all held in one small classroom. After Rosa was 25 she got married to Raymond parks. Les Miserables

Les Miserables
by: Victor Hugo

Les Miserables is about many people. The main character of the book is Jan Val Jean, (French) who was once a criminal to becoming the mayor of a little city in Paris. As his journey goes on, a man by the name of Javre, a cop at the time when Val Jean was in prison, starts to wonder if the mayor is truly Val Jean, so he can put him back in jail. Through the book you will see how Val Jean has to flee Paris because he sees Javre and knows he wants to lock him up in prison.

Val Jean takes a leave of absence to flee from Paris so that he can find a place to hide. Javre hears that Val Jean has left and won’t be back for a long time, because of pride he goes after him day and night. While Val Jean leaves he changes his appearance, and his name. Through that time Val Jean meets Fantine who has been dying and she happens to have a child. Val Jean promises to Fantine that he will always look after Cosette, (her child).

I enjoyed this book because it teaches people about different cultures. The book also is very interesting because of the suspense it has. Whoever enjoys suspense books should read this book.

Rosa Parks: My Story

Rosa Parks: My Story

Rosa Parks’s story is a good book because of everything that goes on in it. Rosa Parks' book talks about segregation and all the struggles she went through to finally get her freedom. The book goes through from Rosa was a child and how she was since her passing a couple years back. One story she talked about was how when she was little her grandfather told her the thing he never wanted them to do was work for a white man. Rosa grew up in Montgomery, Alabama, she went to Mrs. Whites school were she was one of the top students in her class.
Rosa Parks as a young woman (17) started to date Raymond Parks, who was a barber at the time. Rosa eventually did marry him and had a great marriage with him until he died.
This book in my opinion is a great book because it teaches character and history. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys history, biography, or anyone who enjoys reading about the world and its history.

Who am I Without Him?

This book is by Sharon G. Flake, whom in my opinion is a great author. She leaves you wanting more and you can never get enough. She continued to showcase her greatness in this book, “Who am I without Him?” In this book she tells numerous stories about kids who get stuck in sticky situations by chasing after the opposite sex. Some try to impress while others try to escape. I think that this book is great for both boys and girls; it gives great information for both genders. This book tells from different points of view, for instance in one story you hear from a pregnant teen, a boy and girl that come from two different worlds , and from many more individuals that make you wonder, “What would I do?”
