With the help of Tommy, who has just moved back to town, the students begin investigating some strange happenings at an old house in their neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. The town wants to destroy the house, and the children are determined to solve the mystery and save the historic landmark: but what if the wrong people find out what they are doing?
